Did a major install of my avg virus programs today and all is well except for one thing ...  I lost the ability to hit the start key and do a switch between users and then click on that name and the desktop pops up .. what happens now is a windows xp log off  which closes down my own desktop  and then another page pops up with where I then type in the name I need to log to.. and that puts me to another page where I have to again type in the name I need  and then I am there.   !

too many pages  too many typing names .. just the old fashion Start/switch/ <click on name>  and you are there ..

Can anyone help..?

it is either in services.msc  or registry ..  (??)

The Windows xp pro  is not locked ( it was earlier to this ).. but have now unlocked  abut still need Log in ..
