Gentle souls I thank you for being so available in our time of need.

Pages take forever to load, videos pause n hang maddeningly, to close a page takes 3-5 seconds. I got a feeling something is going on here. I stayed at a Holiday Inn once so I may be able to follow directions. I was going to simply do all the steps in the "Constant process hanging" post started by hypno17, Nov 16 2015 03:08 PM. But figured his problems might be different than mine so here goes.

So I started by scanning with malwarebytes anti-malware it found no threats so I ran avast and it found none. Today I ran  FRST so here are the two files

Dear sir, I closed all open apps and browsers. I made a new folder on the desktop and placed the FRST icon and the original two files generated by my initial scan in the folder with the fixlist.txt notepad file I created from your post. Then I double clicked the Frst icon and the box came up. I cicked on fix and waited, it is now 1 hour n 26 minutes later and the green bar that slides is no longer sliding and it is stuck working on deleting temp files in c/users/cctexun/appdata/local/mozilla/firefox/profile and has been stuck there for the last 80 minutes that I know of. Now looking at the folder I created and placed the 4 files I see FRST Older version, Addition.txt, fixlist.txt, fixlog.txt, FRST.txt and FRST64.exe. So the 4 files are now 6. When you said to " Run FRST and click Fix only once and wait." was I supposed to click "scan" and then "fix" and then wait? Have I done something wrong and how should I attempt to rectify the wrong.

With the FRST64.exe, and the Fixlist.txt in the same folder all you have to do is to Start the FRST64.EXE then just click the Fix button.

It should not take more the 15 to 20 minutes to finish.

Post the log for my review.
Let me know how things are running.

The popup box said Adwcleaner found no malicious programs as a matter of fact I saw no entries of elements at all to clean therefore I did not push the clean button. I can run it again and punch the button, if you want me to.

now I am moving forward on to your instructions to reset IE, clean IE cache,

Thanks for your patience. I know I get wordy, hope you don't mind.

Partner At this point I have completed the tasks from your post #2

A.  Ran Frst with Fixlist, restarted and then posted file.

B. Ran Adwcleaner and then ran it again and then posted file.

C. Reset IE, Cleaned IE Cache, cleared browsing history in IE.

Now then since I primarily use Firefox should I do the same with It? And if so how do I complete that task. I am sorta good at following instructions the second or third time around. So please don't hesitate to write it out for me.

Owweeee blazing along.

Magic Man, Looks good, I don't know what you did, my start up seems significantly faster. Mouse works when I click it, no more multi clicks to get it to work, seems youtube videos are not buffering as much. Pages close faster. Have not had the crashes like before. So lets give it a day or two and see if anything pops back up or lights my fire.

Do you have a suggestion for a firewall, I have been using the one that comes with 7 and not worrying about it so maybe i ought to address that?

The scans I have done with Malwarebytes Free and Avast Free have shown no threats for quite a while so I had not worried about protection (famous last words).

Are there any other things I should do?

Bless your lil pea-pickin heart.

Thanks Pods,  D

Do you have a suggestion for a firewall, I have been using the one that comes with 7 and not worrying about it so maybe i ought to address that?

Let me check your Firewall.

Download Farbar's Service Scanner utility
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-service-scanner/dl/62/
and Save to your Desktop.
If using Windows 7 or Vista, Right-Click on fss.exe and select Run As Administrator.
If using XP, double-click to start.
Answer Yes to ok when prompted.
If your firewall then puts out a prompt, again, allow it to run.
Once FSS is on-screen, be sure the following items are checkmarked:
Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center/Action Center
Windows Update
Windows Defender
Other services

Click on "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Copy & Paste contents of FSS.txt into your reply.

Nasdaq sorry to pop up again but, I am wondering if there is something I can do to make my viewing experience on youtube more smooth? I watch quite a few videos on many different hosts and some play much better than others it seems. like just a few minutes ago I was watching a Conan vid from his TV show and it was real jerky and the words and actions did not sync. If I click on the bar at the bottom that shows the time the words and actions sync again. While watching it a blue strip with words appeared that said "if you are having difficulties learn more here". Is there anything I can do to fix it?

"if you are having difficulties learn more here"

What are the recommendations?

Did this slowness just happened?
