I don't know where this cam from but they have all kinds of tactics to get on you machine. All of a sudden, I click on to Google a  and I get this. It's still says google, but there are symbols of sites in a row under the browser bar.

I am pretty sure that is an extension you can uninstall. Click on Chrome Settings > Extensions. Click on the Simplified extension and click the trash can to uninstall.

 

If that does not remove it then use Adwcleaner.
