When I run the next two commands I get errors, for restorehealth/checkhealth It says:  Error : 87.  The restorehealth/checkhealth option is not recognized in this context.

I also get the following error every hour and I think it causes lag in my online games when it happens..."Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x50E54942B492.  The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server."

Could someone kindly help me fix this issue please!

Thank you.

Hi Lucius31 :)

That specific error from SURT is a false positive on the files. We do not know what causes it, but these files are properly named and do not need to be replaced, therefore your issue lies elsewhere. Also, DISM /RestoreHealth doesn't work under Windows 7, only Windows 8 and later :)

Thats great news then, at least my windows is fine!

How about this error?  "Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x50E54942B492.  The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server."

Where should I go to fix this?  Thanks for the quick reply.

Are you aware of your Ethernet Controller being disabled?

Yes, I disabled it. I only use one of them and a while back some error popped up with a card and I was told to disable one to see if the error would stop and it did. I forget what the error was, but for some reason I used to keep getting disconnected from my online games (the net would recover almost instantly, but it was enough to d/c me from the mmo) and that was one of the fixes that they told me to try. I think it was driver related or what-not, but since I didn't use it they said I could disable it. I haven't gotten around to enabling it, mainly because I haven't had the need to.

Also you might see a lot of BSOD about a week ago, that was me overclocking my system. I was thinking of upgrading, then I decided to overclock to save money and they were expected BSOD (low voltage alarms). Some other BSOD were because of verifier.exe and eventually I found the issue using it. I have run prime95 and a few other benchmarks like OCCT without errors over a 24 hour period of non stop testing, so I know it's stable. I still get the errors however when the system is on stock clocks.

Anyway, this network issue pops up almost every hour when I am active online, but if I am not I think it doesn't pop up. I think however, not 100% sure, not even 10% lol....the last time it happened was a few hours ago now. I don't get disconnected from the net, I just notice slight pause or lagging even when typing and if I check the event

viewer almost immediately, the error would have just occurred around the same time.

No idea why it would cause the slight pause.

Does it disconnects you when it pops up? Also, I would do the opposite. Re-enable the card you disabled, and disable the one labelled with #2.

There are few trick can remove the error message because this is some IPv6 related error.

1.Stop completely IPv6.

2. Set your network card to work on 10mbps  on full duplex

 network-controller-speed-duplex-100mbps-

3. Remove Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface from the device manager.

Test it for a while if this work, I`ll amend to replace the network card :)

You have previous post in bleeping regarding this network card.

With the error:
Network Card with network address 0x50E54942B492
Can you please confirm if you are using the last driver for this network card?
many thanks,
Andy

Does it disconnects you when it pops up? Also, I would do the opposite. Re-enable the card you disabled, and disable the one labelled with #2.

If I do that, I lose internet connection as it's plugged into #2?

There are few trick can remove the error message because this is some IPv6 related error.

1.Stop completely IPv6.

2. Set your network card to work on 10mbps  on full duplex

 network-controller-speed-duplex-100mbps-

3. Remove Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface from the device manager.

Test it for a while if this work, I`ll amend to replace the network card :)

I am confused...

Will this slow my internet down? I am currently on fibre optic cable, getting 110-120mbps. You said to use 10/full duplex, but the image shows 100/full duplex, was yours a typo or should I use 10 instead of 100.

How do I remove IPv6?

Also I may have posted about a network error before, but I don't remember. Maybe it was just an error I had among many others? I have the latest drivers for every device currently - as far as I have been told by the driver manager programs I have tried and windows updates.

Lastly, what is Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface? I have never heard of it.

As you can see, I am not very skilled with Windows 7.

No problem at all.

Here you can read more about Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface ( is IPv6 interface)

How do I remove IPv6 - here

Yes this will limit your internet to 10mbps, still will be enough for online gaming.

If the network card work properly on the lower duplex speed that mean something is wrong with the hardware it self.

This is one of the oldest methods to test network card :).

Here is guidance how to swap network adapter duplex speed.

If you need any assistance please do not hesitate to ask.

Okay I will follow that guide and report back.

However I do not agree with "10mbps still will be enough for online gaming". Ha Ha Ha. I used to have a 20mbps capped internet and I used to die a lot, then I went to fibre optic with 100+ and I finally lost a lot of lag. 10mbps is not enough for "competitive" online gaming, but it is enough say for games connected online, but in player vs player - it is not. I also have to download a lot of data, sometimes via utorrent (torrent downloads) for my software testing and games beta testing which I do for work basically. I know using "bad torrents" can cause problems like viruses, but when I am downloading 20-30gb of pictures (for player profile pictures in a soccer game), using a torrent makes it so much faster to download from other testers.

I will try it out anyhow, as I am not playing online games for a few days.

What do I look out for?

Well that was fast! Okay everything has been done. :)

The internet disconnected when I did it, then came back about 30 seconds later.

I can only keep it at 10mbps until 7:05 then I have a 26gb game download to do, for a new build of a game I am testing. I can put it back to 10mbps after the download in about 3 hours time.

What do I look for now?

Update :

My internet cut off momentarily and checked event viewer and the warning errors are now red errors.

All the same three times...

Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x50E54942B4C2.  The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

How can I find out which card is causing the error and what does it mean?
