Hi everyone,

I am really hoping someone will be able to assist me.  For about the past month I have not been able to access certain websites on my computer.  Google works fine sometimes and a few other websites.  Facebook does not display correctly and my windows live email.  I am unable to access any other secure website.  there is nothing wrong with my internet connection as I am able to connect to the internet and browse any website using my phone with Wi-Fi.  I have a Wi-Fi dongle that I use to connect to the internet.

I have googled the problem numerous times and I was able to fix it temporarily by resetting my network adapter and IP, TCP, Winstock etc.  This worked a few times and now it will not work anymore.

I am not clued up at all with anything really to do with network connections etc.

I have downloaded Malwarebytes, Hitman pro, Adware Cleaner and it did pick up a lot of tracing cookies and did remove some.  I then booted in safe mode and Hitman Pro found 72 tracking cookies but was unable to delete them.

I am completely stumped by this and I use my computer for work and formatting it is the last option on my list. I am running Windows 7 on my computer and use a router.  I have tied turning my firewall off and resetting all internet settings and every fix I could find and nothing.

please just bare with me because as mentioned I am a complete newbie with regards to all of this.

Thanks

Is there anyone that could possible help me?

I think you've posted in the wrong area of this forum for your problem. There's actually a thread specific to problems with accessing secure sites, It's pinned so it's the first thread on the page but follow the link below and to go straight there:
