Hello. I'm new to the forum so i'll start by saying Hi to everyone. Right now to my problem. I have got a dead computer from a friend to see if i can fix it. I have opened it up and its a mess. The cpu fan case was on one side i have taken that off and the cpu was not conected. I have pushed the pins in and put the heatshrink and fan back on and checked all the cables are connected. The pc powers up but the monitor cames up with no signal. I re took the cpu off and noticed some off the pins where bent.

Now i have straighteed them up and re connected everything but still have the same signal. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? Is the cpu buggered am i missing something realy simple.

Any help would be great.

Welcome to Bleeping Computer.
Do you have any lights or any sound from the motherboard or case?

Hi there,

I have started the pc with the case open and the fan on the cpu starts up and runs. The lights on the front all light up aswell. Theres no other noises at all.

I'm thinking it could be the cpu chip but i don't know. I've tried it on a couple of monitors one says no signal and the other one just goes blank.

Remove and reinstall everything EXCEPT the processor. RAM, video card,...
Did you use thermal paste when you re-installed the CPU?

Update!

I have a pin missing on the proccesor by the corner. I assume that it might be no use due to this? Also was thinking that it could be a problem with the grapics card also as the monitor does not show a signal when plugged in.

Any more suggestions would be helpful.

I'm thinking video card. You can google the processor for a pinout and see if that missing pin is critical.
