Asus ROG G551JW

WIndows 8.1 64 Bit

Hey! I thank you in advance for the help, as this has been puzzling and quite distressing to me. I have recently bought this laptop for games but truly- out of the need for an internet that doesn't take half an hour to open! I had a mouse that was working fine until Sunday evening. I checked the battery- it was fine and Device Manager had nothing listed for it. I went out and bought another mouse thinking that the mouse was being a butt, but it didn't work either. I have three 3.0 USB ports on my laptop, or at least I THINK. Only one one of the ports has been working, the USB charger plus one. I thought it would be a driver issue and I checked the support page for said laptop but nothing was listed.

Please help! I would really appreciate it!  :love4u:

Your 3.0 ports should be labeled with a usb symbol and an ss. If the drivers are good you may want to rma this laptop.

Hi FableRose

The USB3 Ports will have Blue Plastic showing in them, USB2 ports will have Black Plastic in them. It appears that Yours has 3 USB3 ports.

Look at the Ports and make sure they are not damaged physically.

Have You tried opening the Device manager?

Click the start button, then type device manager in the search box and select (tap) it to select it. Then Look at the USB section. It should show Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Then look and see if it shows any problems. Report back

Another option is Asus technical support.

Good Luck
