Some of your interesting "facts" are a bit off mate.

-It takes glass one million years to decompose, which means it never wears out and can be recycled an infinite amount of times!

Well, actually it does wear out... it just takes a million years.

-Gold is the only metal that doesn't rust, even if it's buried in the ground for thousands of years.

How about copper, palladium, silver, platinum and mercury... and other noble metals.

-The roar that we hear when we place a seashell next to our ear is not the ocean, but rather the sound of blood surging through the veins in the ear.

It's actually ambient noise in the air resonating in the shell.

-The banana cannot reproduce itself. It can be propagated only by the hand of man.

Bollocks

-The tooth is the only part of the human body that cannot heal itself.

What about brain cells

-Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair.

This is linked to hair loss, not intelligence.

If you get into the bottom of a well or a tall chimney and look up, you can see stars, even in the middle of the day

Bollocks

-Avocados have the highest calories of any fruit at 167 calories per hundred grams.

And highest fat content too. Very nutritious.

Everything weighs one percent less at the equator

I thought it was 0.5%

Fact Nazi strikes again.

I can profess to the fact that if at the bottom of a well or shaft, in my case, down a manhole, when looking up at the sky, it will be dark and you can see the stars.  This is because you are viewing a small portion of the sky and light is only visible when scattered by the atmosphere and you only see a tiny part of it.  IT"S TRUE.   While doing infra-red surveys of high current circuit breakers down at the bottom of a twenty foot vault.  After my work was done, I turned to climb the ladder leading up and out, I saw the sky was dark.  I checked my watch and assumed the battery had quit and it really was dark outside.  As I climbed the ladder, it became lighter and lighter and finally took on the blue color we're used to.

One cannot see the stars during the day... not from a well, not on a mountain not on the ocean nor in a cave. (maybe with a telescope pointing at just the right spot though)

Physics.

Somebody find a manhole to continue this research.  I experienced it and would not have believed it either had I not had first hand knowledge.  Investigate more into "why the sky is blue" and the reality will be revealed.

"Fact"12, actually the word is a googol and it is 10^100, this is does not have a million zeroes when writen out. Another vast number is a googolplex, this is 10^(10^100), ten, to the ten to the one hundred, ten to the power of a googol. A googol would if written out in decimal form be a googol of digits long, so couldn't be written in decimal form even if you used every atom in the sun with one atom representing each digit you needed to write. Infact a googol is larger than the number of atoms in the galaxy, by a factor of 10^31.

The banana thing is actually true, with the edible variants at least. They have a triploid set of chromosomes (3n, or 1.5x the chromosomes of a wild banana plant) - this messes up meiosis which is the process that creates seeds, and thus reproduction. This is the reason why the bananas sold in your grocery stores and supermarkets don't have seeds.

Without seeds they cannot reproduce the way wild banana plants can. Humans can cut off the roots that has grown into new banana plants and take them to new locations for propagation.

They shoot out runners and take over an area like weeds. I've had to hack them back several times in my back yard.

It may be an optical illusion you experienced mate, as it has been tried many times (even by scientists) without avail. Even using binoculars stars could not be seen from the bottom of the well.

It's not *reproduction* per se - those shoots are actually parts of the same plant. The real banana "plant" is the purple bulb underground, the green shoots we see above are actually the leaves. Banana plants grow those shoots the way other plants grow their leaves.

Lol... I live in the far north of Australia.

The shoots are underground, the same way cactus can reproduce. They will take over massive areas unchecked, many trunks, many different plants.
