Hi:

No, that doesn't sound right.

What version are you running?

There is a new version, 8.0, as announced here: Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) 8.0.0 Released!

The tool and its developer (@thisisu) are now over at Malwarebytes.

So, until someone more expert comes along here (e.g. @quietman7 or @thisisu himself), you might want to consider posting over in the JRT Support Forum >HERE<.

Hope this helps,

MM

There can be any number of reasons for security scanning tools to hang, freeze or fail to complete a scan. Sometimes there isn't a clear explanation as to why without the developer having access to more specific information. In some cases a specific diagnostic log may be required in order to determine the source of the problem.

I agree with MoxieMomma.

You should start a new topic and report this to the developer (thisisu) at the official Malwarebytes Junkware Removal Tool Support forum.

Our staff does not know the detailed inner workings of the program and we would have to contact and refer thisisu to this topic. Your best option would be to ask yourself and wait for a reply.

I can assure you that thisisu welcomes feedback and reads all suggestions, comments and concerns provided by users.

Hi,

It's not normal. Which part of the scan does the tool not get past ? e.g. "Processes"

Have you tried running the tool while in Safe Mode?
