How do I get safe mode off, my mouse doesn't move not even when using a USB mo

I new at the whole laptop thing my boyfriend bought it for school. I must have pushed a button I didn't know now I can't get mouse to move on my hp. G62 NOT even when I plug my USB mouse

Is the touchpad working properly? When you say "mouse", do you mean the touchpad?

Is the keyboard working properly?

That system dates back to 2010...why do you say "new"?

In the upper left portion of the touchpad there is a LED which indicates the state of the touchpad.

 

If this LED is amber you have turned off the touchpad.

 

Try doing the following to turn the touchpad back on.

Agreed with previous post - however if you have confirmed it's a USB mouse and not the touchpad you're talking about, what kind of mouse is it?  Wireless or wired?

What has been posted indicates that the touchpad and a USB mouse fail to work.
