Hello again. I asked for help a few years back and a gracious fellow solved the problem. He had me download a few programs the analyze. then we fixed the problem.

I have a laptop running win 7 64 bit. Pro. It says I have all the updates and hotfixes, Today I downladed Belarc Advisor and it says there are 14 important and critical fixes that are missing,

Not all the original M$ software is there, A lot has been removed over the years as I prefer to rin third party software.

Belarc says the issues found must be addressed. Those fixes may be for software that no longer exists, Can someone help me with this? I don't know what to do?

Not sure if I am in the right forum,

Thank You,

Al.

Hi alcohan :)

Are you able to list here the Windows Updates/Hotfixes that Belarc warns you about? Their KB numbers. If you can, we'll be able to look them up and tell you if they apply to you or not. Some of them could have been discontinued, replaced or else and Belarc cannot tell them apart like that.

Are you still using Adobe Acrobat?

Current version of Adobe Shockwave Player is 12.2.1.171 for Internet Explorer.

KB2553371, KB2553501, KB2566445, KB2687423, KB2687505, KB2687510, KB2760406, KB2810073, KB2850016, KB2880971 and KB2881071 and are all Windows Update related to Office 2010 and other programs (like SharePoint, Lync, InfoPath), etc. from the Office 2010 suite.

Are you still using Adobe Acrobat?

Its installed but I do not use it. I recently bought an older copy of Acrobat 7.0 standard to do forms.

It was the wrong software to buy, but I wanted to get rid of Acro Reader DC with its automatic checking for software revisions.

I did find a workaround.

Current version of Adobe Shockwave Player is 12.2.1.171 for Internet Explorer.

I use IE as a last resort only.

Office was removed from my system a long time ago.

It sounds like I am as protected as I can be,

Thank You
