I have a Compaq 4120 (old model) that I dug out of the closet to mess with. Well, the keyboard won't respond to anything. After reviewing the manual, I think there is a problem with the PC being in Quicklock mode...for some reason or another. I haven't ever initiated the QL mode, or provided a password for it. Question..is there a way to bypass it? A local friend told me that you may have to disassemble the unit to reset it. The 'Geek Squad' told me I have to bring it in..as was expected. Anyway, any ideas as to what I may do to fix this? I'm wanting to nuke it, and install WINXP, as it's set up with.......'95 for crying out loud!!

I've tried to boot with Darik's to start over, but it won't recognize it.

Wayne

Sounds like you've got to reset the BIOS in order to get by it!

Here's a link to the manual for a similarly aged product: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/..._170045-002.pdf
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
