Their so-called "tier II" desktop support is in India, with phone connections that drop out every few minutes, and $2-an-hour technicians that spend the first 30 minutes of the conversation arguing with you. I supposed maybe Microsoft provides such bleepty service because they want you to pay for their tier III support, but with total crap lower-tier service, I wouldn't even remotely consider paying a nickle for anything else. Three hours on the phones with these guys and I havent even been able to adequately explain what the problem is, let alone actually troubleshoot it. I swear the people who Microsoft hires in India dont know the first thing about computers. I am pretty sure half of them havent even attended any form of school (to include high school).

Are you sure that it is Microsoft's tech support (you called them) and not a form of tech support scam (they called you)?

Know that feeling. I had trouble updating to Windows 10. They tried and failed to pronounce my name properly. I tried to explain all that was happening, which everything was fine up until the final part when I got the message "This cannot be done. Please try later" I waited I contacted India and waited some more. They promised to send emails. Yep got one then none. After a couple of months switched on PC and Voila Windows 10 installed...
