if i buy windows office package, is the code only good for one computer? or can i use it on a second computer?


also, if i install Libre Office, i know i can view microsoft word files, but can you create them? like .docx files?

The standard retail license for MS Office is for one computer, however there are options available with licenses for more than one but at a higher price. I believe you can still get Home/Student 2010 for three computers but the current price on Amazon UK is £ 189.


In Libre office files are created in the native .ODB format but you can export files as Word and Excel types both as .DOC and .DOCX and .XLS and .XLSX. There are sometimes problems with formatting but these are getting fewer.
