At any given time, the mouse stops working and the light goes out.

Nothing on the keyboard functions.

Turn it off and restart it, everything works fine.

This computer is brand new and the store that sold it to me had no answers.

Open the Device Manager and scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Double click/tap on Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Detection Driver (USB).

Click/tap on the Driver tab.

Uninstall the Driver and restart the computer.  When the computer is restarted a new driver will be installed.

Let us know if this resolves the problem.

Thanks DC

I will try it on Sunday in case a new driver gives me problems.
