Problems with the ZA Free Firewall in recent 6.5 version have been rectified in the release of version 6.5.731.000.

We will see what the pro version has to offer.I am not hopeful.
Of the 12 last versions only 2 have not created problems.
I am running v.61.744.000 at the moment and it is as good as gold.
Letters on the forum are a first class guide.
Regards

I'm running 6.1.744.001, the suite version, and it too is good as gold. Haven't leaped into 6.5 yet. Just watching how it'll shape up. Chances are it's good.

The ZA free version 6.5.714.000 is good as well, but .722 is a flop, so Koan's note is encouraging for free users. In fact, one of these days I'll go free forever, it's simpler and free loads up faster.

Well I've been burned at least once, so.....IDK

A good place to look around is the ZA forums.

The letters on the forum are beginning to sound a little bearish but they are for the free version.
We should have the pro version shortly and all will be revealed. In the mean time i have been checking that Go Back is working correctly. It is,so i am prepared.
What i don't understand is how they get it so wrong so often.

I'd like to know as well.
Scarlett, I think it's some sort of Norton Ghost. I think there is a Norton version as well as a Roxio version.
I'm all ears since NTBackup which I use apparently isn't as hot as I once thought it was.
Time to check tutorials here on backups, right?

BC has jumped on the train a little late as there has been a rather long discussion over at Castlecops on ZA Free, but I'll bring my imput over from CC. First off, I HATED ZA 6.5.722 and thought it made ZA's reputation turn into one of Winfixers. Looking at the lists of problems would give someone headaches (let alone having to install it, then uninstall it, and go through some fixing processes). However, I vowed to which to a more powerful firewall than the Windows firewall (Sunbelt Kerio was good until the trial expired, Jetico had an unpleasent interface and scared me a little, Comodo is still in BETA, and Sygate doesn't seem to like me anymore), so ZA Free looked like the only option. Still wanting a recent version of ZA, I hit 6.5.714 (or w/e)... no go. Next was the good old times 6.5.700 and it worked beautifully. Now, I am using 6.5.731 and have a blunt, sinister bat ready to smack anyone who tries to remove it! Startup flies by in a flash (same startup time as if I were using Windows Firewall). My computer speed in general is exhilerating and my Internet download/upload speeds are untouched. Overall, ZA has restored its reputation by giving this Supreware an mega upgrade in protection and speed.

Go Back or to give it it's full title Norton Go Back. Its about the best piece of software.other than Partition Magic, that Norton have.It is a sort of System Restore only about ten times better. It has got me out of a mess more times than i care to remember.
I acquired my copy as a freebee with Norton Firewall for a total cost of 30.Quite a good buy at the time, especially as Go Back by its self was 35.I did try the firewall. It finished in the dustbin one hour later.
That,s when Zone Alarm came on the scene.
Regards to all.
