Videos And Pictures Have A ghostly Appearance

When I view  Videos on YouTube or look at pictures on a web site many times they are distorted.

 

They take on what I call a 'ghostly' effect. The screen almost completely blacks out and the person in the video is barely identifiable. He/she looks Like a ghost.                      

 

 This problem just started  a few days ago

 

This does not happen all the time but at least half the time I try to view them.

 

I have not downloaded any new programs in at least a month.

 

I have run 5 different security scans and they have all come back clean.

 

I have no idea what is going on.

 

Below is a screen shot  a video I was trying to watch on you tube.

 

Tried to post a picture. I clicked choose file and it took me to my pictures. I than click on the picture and was brought back here. I than clicked on attach file and a window popped up and told that no file was selected for upload. I tried it 5 times no luck. I also tried a few other images just to see if I could get it working. No luck.

 

 

Anyway, Any ideas of what is going on with my computer ?

Are your videos on your hard-drive aok or are they also distorted?

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Roland I do not have any videos downloaded. I can view the pictures I have just fine.

 

 

Hamluis, Do you want me to go on you tube and capture a screen shot and then post the link of the video ???

 

As usual I am confused.

First thing I suggest...update IE from 9 to 11, then install all critical security updates for Win 7.

 

You might also install an alternate browser (e.g., Firefox) and see if the same phenomenon occurs.

I went to the Microsoft web site to download  IE 11 for Windows 7.

 

I downloaded it and when I tried to install it a window popped up that said

 

Operating system is not supported. You need Windows SP 1 Or server R2 SP1 to install IE 11.

 

I thought I had Windows 7 with the SP 1 service pack ????  Maybe I am wrong  as usual. 

 

Please advise how I should proceed.

 

I am using Google Chrome as my browser. Once I get the downloads taken care of I will try Firefox as you suggested and see what happens.

 

I went to the Microsoft web site and it told me how to check and see if I have Service Pack 1 . I checked and I do not have it.

 

I than checked with the site on how to download it and it told me to use windows up date. I did and service pack 1 does not come up as an update. I did not think it would since I up date this computer everyday and have never been offered service pack  1

 

 

My brother in law gave me this computer a year ago when my PC died. He had it sitting around his office for over a year not in use as he had bought a new one, That is why it was probably never updated before he gave it to me.

OK...you need to install SP1, not a problem.  I completely overlooked that aspect when I reviewed your data, but it's clear that you don't have it installed.

 

Go HERE, download, save to your desktop...install if from your desktop.  Then...

 

Go HERE , download the 32-bit version, save it to your desktop...install it from your desktop.

 

Then, go to Windows Update and install all critical updates (no optional updates).
