Running windows 8.1, 64 bit. on an Acer Aspire XC-703G, I just got this machine a little over a month ago and have installed most of the updates and have hidden the updates for Windows 10- KB3044374 - 2976978 - 3035583 as I don't want to try that at this time.

There are 2 updates left and they date back to the beginning of 2014 and reading the details I don't think I need them but thought I would ask here before doing anything, the 2 are in the important list. KB2984006   956.7MB)  & KB2995388 (61.3MB).

Thanks

Hi Moe_P :)

These are "rollout" updates, which means that they address many issues present on Windows so I strongly suggest you to install them, otherwise you could be experiencing the bugs they are addressing.

Post #1, those two updates you speak of are fine to install if you want to. They are bug fixes. They don't patch security holes, so they aren't really, really important, but they could be useful to you if you've experienced any of the bugs listed on the following pages.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2984006
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2995388

So, neither of these updates is absolutely critical, but they both have potneitally useful value to you. Neither is an unpleasant update. And neither is buggy as fas as I have heard. You can install or not install these at your choice. Installing them could be helpful to you, there's no particular reason not to for these two updates.
