I reserved a copy of Win 10 thinking doing so would give me a place in line should I decide to download and install it. Now, Win Update will not let me download any other "important" Win 7 updates. I must include 10 in the  download and install choices. I don't want 10 at this time.

How can I update 7 without downloading 10?

Hi gkpc7 :)

If you click on Show available updates in the Windows Update panel, you should be able to untick the Upgrade to Windows 10 update, and even hide it if you wish. Let me know how it goes.

Upgrade to Windows 10 does not appear in the Show available updates panel.

When I select the updates I want to install  and click OK, I see a box with a "get started" button to install 10 now. I see no other command to install the other selected updates. It appears that Microsoft has added the 10 upgrade as an option so that no other update can be executed without executing the 10 upgrade.

If that is correct, should I care that I can't update 7?

Pretty sure you're getting the glitch. Can you provide me a screenshot of your Windows Update panel after checking for updates?

Upgrade 10 is there. I didn't look far enough. Thanks for an easy fix which I should have figured out for myself.
