I'm trying to set up an older computer that I have but I am coming across a problem of that the .exe install files for many (not all) of the programs I'm trying to run wont do anything at all. Windows xp home service pack 2, 32-bit. I have run the repair from the cd without any luck. Anyone have any ideas?

On the newest program I'm trying to install when I look at the files properties under files type it says "%1" %" (setpoint for my mouse) could it be that the programs are somehow not downloading right? I've tried to download them several times and it still says the same.

Got it updated to Service pack 3 and it seems to be working now.
