Hello I have a Gigabyte Technology GA-880GM-UD2H MB running win 7 Ultimate and want to use the hdmi connector on it as input.

Any one know if this is possible?

Thanks

From the (English) user manual page 20

"

HDMI Port (Note 2)

The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) provides an all-digital audio/video interface to transmit the uncompressed audio/video signals and is HDCP compliant

"

Which says to me that the motherboard HDMI port is output only.

Check under your available audio recording devices - if I'm wrong you should find an HDMI audio input there.

Thanks and yes it just shows HDMI output in the sound options.

I read somewhere it was changeable in bios,  but do not know if it is on this MB.

I think I've seen some strange adapters at places such as Frys Electronics.  If no BIOS/UEFI switch, then onto an adapter you go.

The BIOS section of the User's Manual does not make any mention of switching the HDMI to an input (but the BIOS on your board may not be identical to that shown in the manual).

Something like this would probably do the job:-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-Express-1080p-Video-Capture/dp/B007U5MGBE

or at a more reasonable cost (but no doubt without much warranty support or driver back up)

or possibly a USB solution such as this:-
