I have what I think is referred to as a "Belkin hub" which I use to create four USB ports from one.  When I switch my computer on there is a red light to the left of the device and a green light to the right.  I look at it later in the day and they both disappear.  Why is this?

Belkin have had many different models of 4 Port USB hub - both powered & unpowered - and probably manufactured by various suppliers. Any indicator lights (if fitted) on them may well have different meanings for each model. Do you have a model number for your "Belkin Hub".

All I can see is:  HI Speed USB 2.0 7 port hub.  For some reason the green light on the right has gone out.
