I'm getting the following message trying to open a Photoshop file: "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of -file was encountered." The file size is 630.4MB

You tend to get that error message when the file is corrupt. That can happen sometimes with Photoshop. Where do you save the file?

First of all - welcome to BC !

Are you sure that the file is a PhotoShop file ?  If the file size you quote is correct, 630MB is huge for an image file, it's more like the size of a video file, and quite a big video file at that !  If all else fails, the information here might help -
