Probably seen this a million times. Trying to run a program as ADMINISTRATOR, but XP asks for password. I don't recall ever giving a password or even setting up administrator, etc. I tried the obvious...entering blank in the field, No luck.

Looks like a google search has nothing but paid programs, key recovery type programs, etc. Is this the only alternative to finding this out about my computer.

If you boot into safe mode you should have a new account called Administrator. Does it ask for a password?  If it does then you can reset it using this program.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!
If password is reset on users that have EFS encrypted files, and the system is XP or newer, all encrypted files for that user will be UNREADABLE! and cannot be recovered unless you remember the old password again
If you don't know if you have encrypted files or not, you most likely don't have them. (except maybe on corporate systems)
