Dear forum, hello. I have some questions as I am kinda noob at these things.

1. About the 1st to 3rd thing in the log. That adultubeus.info things. I play this MMORPG game called C9 and at the launcher, it freaking shows me this and multiple pop-ups(pop-up of those 1st 3 things in the log). Like why??:Attached File  virusmaybe.png   361.9KB   0 downloads

Of course I choose no. The other people in the game said they don't have these pop-ups. Problem is....

2. ...I CAN'T find the destination folder!! I showed all the hidden files to access AppData, but there's not even a folder called "INETCOOKIES"!!! I scanned these every day, deleted it every day and they STILL come back. What the heck??

3. And how common is SQLITE? It seems to pop up no matter where I go? How common is Spyware in general?

Thankyou in advance.

Hello Cherant and welcome to Bleeping Computer.

My name is Satchfan and I would be glad to help you with your computer problem.

It appears that you do indeed have adware/spyware and this will affect your computer, not anyone else’s as it is not connected to the program you are trying to run.

Regarding SQLite entries, these are quite normal.

Let’s try and clean this up but first please read the following guidelines which will help to make cleaning your machine easier:

  • please follow all instructions in the order posted
  • please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear
  • all logs/reports, etc. must be posted in Notepad. Please ensure that word wrap is unchecked. In Notepad click Format, uncheck Word wrap if it is checked
  • if you don't understand something, please don't hesitate to ask for clarification before proceeding
  • the fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
  • please reply within 3 days. If you do not reply within this period I will post a reminder but topics with no reply in 4 days will be closed!

IMPORTANT:

Please DO NOT install/uninstall any programs unless asked to.
Please DO NOT run any scans other than those requested

===================================================

Note: Please run these in the order given in the instructions.

===================================================

Download and run AdwCleaner

Download AdwCleaner from here and save it to your desktop.

  • run AdwCleaner
  • when it has finished, select Clean
  • if it asks to reboot, allow the reboot
  • on reboot a log will be produced; please attach the content of the log to your next reply.

===================================================

Download and run Junkware Removal Tool

thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

  • shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
  • run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
  • the tool will open and start scanning your system
  • please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications
  • on completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open
  • post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

===================================================

Run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • press Scan button
  • it will produce a log called Frst.txt in the same directory the tool is run from
  • please copy and paste log back here.
  • the first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the Frst.txt into your reply.

Logs to include with next post:

AdwCleaner log
JRT.txt
Frst.txt
Addition.txt

Thanks

Satchfan

1st of all, I don't know why, but after the last time it deleted stuff but now I swept again I shyt you not Adwcleaner now comes up CLEAN (This is not my 1st sweep on Adw). I'm really sorry but I still attached the adw log even though it's empty. The game launcher I told you about still pops up syntax messages or errors or some sort with description of adult websites like adultubeus.info still. I ran the launcher again and the game and adw still turned up clean.

If you need anything please tell me? I have no idea what is going on. Is SQLITE's supposed to happen? Some say it's a very bad ware but a search on the internet as I understood they're just like cookies?

Thankyou in advance....

Just in case you need the old adw sweep logs, which were like, a day or 2 ago before I even knew you recommended me this I just remembered long ago I used to have Adw and I installed it after my forum post and before knowing about your reply.

This is all.

Again, thankyou and sorry in advance...

Don't worry about the old logs but thanks for taking the time to post them.

There are quite a few entries that are a bit dubious but first let’s try resetting your browsers and then have another scan.

Download zoek.exe to your Desktop:

  • on Windows Vista, 7, and 8, right-click Zoek.exe and select: Run as Administrator
  • give it a few seconds to appear
  • copy/paste the entire script inside the codebox below into the input field of Zoek:
    iedefaults;
    ffdefaults;
    chrdefaults;
    emptyclsid;
    emptyalltemp;
    autoclean;
    resethosts;

  • close any open programs
  • click the Run script button, and wait. It takes a few minutes to run
  • when the tool finishes, the zoek-results.log is opened in Notepad: the log can also be found on the systemdrive, normally C:\
  • if a reboot is needed, the log will be opened after the reboot.

When you’ve done this, run FRST again and let me know if the problem is still there.

Dear satchfan,

WHAT. DID. YOU. DO??? What did those programs even do??? The things at the launcher absolutely disappeared!!

HOWEVER, something interesting. When I scanned with SUPERSpyware Scanner, these adultubeus.info showed up again in the logs, as well as yadro.ru and the like, just like the 1st post.

Is this normal? Can you please explain to me what happened that the pop-ups at my game launcher disappeared and why these adultubeus.info things keep showing up? I am noob but not that much of a nincompoop. Can you tell me what happened? Please? And what are those programs you directed me to install?

Thankyou so much.

When I scanned with SUPERSpyware Scanner, these adultubeus.info showed up again in the logs

I specifically asked you to run no scans other than the ones requested. We have good reason for this as the cleaning process needs to be done in a certain order. Running random scans might remove something that I need to see and be aware of.

I'm pleased that things have improved but I didn't suggest that your computer was clean which is why I asked you to run Zoek  and send a new FRST log. Can you please send the results of both.

Thanks

Satchfan

Darn. It. Forgot to paste those text in the zoek.exe and it did everything I couldn't stop it but I guess here's the txt file. I'm so sorry. But if it helps that I do it again with the appropriate text pasted then please tell me.

FRST uploaded too. Darn. Why does this adultubeus and stuff won't leave me alone??

I apologise for the delay but I have been very busy.

You need to move Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to your desktop otherwise fixes will not work.

  • go to your Downloads folder and locate Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
  • right click and select Cut
  • go to an empty spot on your desktop, right click and select Paste

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool should now be on your desktop.

================================================

Run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Open notepad. Please copy the contents of the code box below and paste it into Notepad.

Well it happens only at that launcher of the game. And I read one time that the launcher uses or is connected to Internet Explorer or something I'm not sure (Don't take my word for it though).... And IE browser as far as I know doesn't pop these up. Then again I don't use IE much. Since the last time I posted there's been more freaking pop-ups at the launcher. Ahhh, it sucks. The pop-ups don't appear anywhere else other than the game launcher (Game name: continent of the ninth seal or "c9" for short).

And the stupid spyware had kept showing up at superantispyware scanner which I have not used since last time I said "no scans in between".

And no, yet again, there's NO pop-ups on the launcher. I have yet to scan with SuperAntiSpyware to see if adultubeus.info and the like are still there.

Darn. After the fixes you gave me they're gone completely then they come back after some time. I know the pop-ups only appear at the game launcher but I have a bad feeling about these spywares that keep coming back.

Thankyou in advance :X

From your SAS log it would appear that these are being added each time you launch the game.

I'm not a gamer and my knowledge of Internet-related issues is limited. You could try to block cookies for the adultubeus.info site but disabling third-party cookies may cause problems if the game is web-based.

See this page and see step 4.

Let me know if that works and if you need instructions for other browsers.
