Sorry don't like ribbon.

Using Windows 10 64bit Home Premium can I get classic menu bar and get rid of ribbon?

I have found this page but it does not work in Win 10 i.e. pressing Alt does not bring up the menu bar; just shows me what character to press to get to that item. I do not see Organize and therefore cannot get to layout.

Any help please?

If using File Explorer -

press Alt and V (for the View menu)

then click on the "Options" icon

Alternately, run the following command from the Run dialog:

RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Options_RunDLL 7

Thank you for your reply.

However it does not do what I want.

I do not want to see the ribbon only the classic menu bar.

I do use Folder Options e.g. to show file extensions. But checking Always show menus does not bring up the classic menu bar.

Any more advice please?

This page:-

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/show-the-menu-bar-in-windows-explorer

suggests it is possible.

Try some of these:  https://www.google.com/search?q=hide+ribbon+in+file+explorer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Be advised that there are unforseen consequences of doing this.  For example it can break notepad and other programs that also use the ribbon.
