yet another ? please.

I think it started after updating to latest avast or maybe when I started using windows-10. It seems Avast is always scanning something. Icon spins full-time.  Avast service only shows around 0.03 usage in task mgr. I did try the re-install, but same thing. Anyone have any advice of am I borrowing trouble...?   Thanks...Jim

please see attachment for avast specs,,,

When the avast! icon (globe) is spinning that means an avast! shield is actively scanning something...a file, a webpage, network traffic, program updates, Windows updates, etc. The spinning is more of an aesthetic animation to let you know avast! is working. In some cases, avast may hang on whatever it is scanning and the spinning will continue until it unfreezes, you manually stop the scan or reboot your computer.

Animation can be disabled (turned off) under avast! Settings...there is an option to uncheck both the tray icon and animation when scanning.Note: The avast! icon will also stop spinning if you have disabled one of more individual modules (shields) and the icon then changes to a static one with an ! and yellow triangle.

Then, I am understanding the spinning is just really a notice that Avast is protecting,(in most cases) I don`t think it did that before the w-10 or Avast update,,,Not sure though.  Will follow your link and maybe calm it down a bit....Thanks for your reply. I am sorta thinking about maybe changing AV......Thanks again...Jim
