Hard-disk drive maker Western Digital Corp (WDC.O) said it would buy SanDisk Corp (SNDK.O) for about $19 billion, giving it better access to flash memory storage chips used in smartphones and mobile devices.

What boggles my mind is the $67 billion Dell paid for EMC.
