Windows Update Error -- Definition Update for Windows Defender

I have repeated gotten an error in trying to do an "normal" Windows update for the following:


Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.207.3759.0) - Error 0x80070643


I tried to do the update directly via the Windows Defender tool and still go an error -- only this time the message was that it failed because of "internet or network connectivity problems" -- although I was online the entire time.  


I've run the Microsoft Windows Update Troubleshooting tool and it appeared to correct a problem, but then the update again failed when it ran.


Any suggestions on what I might to do correct this problem?

Hello neverett :)


Let's do an SFC scan to help fix some of these issues


Run SFC by:
Open Notepad
Type this:
sfc /scannow
copy %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log %UserProfile%\Desktop\CBS.log
Click on Format, and make sure Word Wrap is unchecked
Press Ctrl + S and click on *.txt and change it to all files
Save it on Desktop as Fix.bat
Right-click on Fix.bat, and click on Run as Administrator
Let it finish
When it finishes, attach the CBS.log on the Desktop
