i want to get linux to to increase not onl performance, but t oincrease the overall look of teh OS, cause linux looks neat and clean, and i jsut dont take a liking to 98, plus linux has morefeatures i bieleve, could you direct me on how to aquire this and these partition things, and will it kill windows, cause i think i might still want that, if you can help me get the easiest to use and install version, that would be great, thx in advance, 121skater

As a new Linux user my suggestion to you is to try a "LiveCD" before
installing,partitioning,etc.
PCLinuxOS is a great place to start
http://www.pclinuxos.com
Also check the Live Linux thread for others such as
Ubuntu, Puppy Linux, Damn Small Linux, Knoppix and others.
Once you've downloaded a distribution and played around
with it you can choose to install it to the hard drive and thats when
you will get into partitioning and "dual booting" between windows
and linux.
