Steam has a few games for Linux. You will also find games in your distros repository.

Many games are moving to linux thanks to...STEAMOS

SteamOS

There are not that many games for linux, especially popular games. But, all of that is changing due a platform where games can thrive, Valve's SteamOS. I am very excited for SteamOS, mostly because it can give more legitimacy to linux. Linux does not have any real market share in people's homes, bedrooms, living rooms. Valve may change that, and end up creating a major competitor to Microsoft's Windows.

Hardware support is a big one, while most hardware can and will work out of the box certain hardware can cause woes such as graphics cards especially if the open drivers are not as good.

Both Nvidia and AMD GPU drivers can cause issues with linux, and while it is a factor that is getting better there can still be issues,

Also if you ever need to return your computer to a store good luck, companies like Best Buy are compiled by morons and if they see anything other then Windows on a PC or OSX on a mac their small brains would explode.

Tech support if  your network goes down? Ha! Most tech support dont even know what goddamned firefox is, anything but IE for some of them is like explaining quantum science.

Dont get me wrong I love linux, its the rest of the world who thinks that XP is the only OS despite XP being killed off for the most part.
