I was using a system recovery disc on my computer and I accidently deleted the "Samsung REC" and I don't know how to fix it. The computer runs ok, but I can't get on the internet with it.

I had to run a system recovery, because I had a virus or something on my computer. Anyway I'm having to use my brother's computer to post this comment.

What version of Windows is installed?

What "system recovery disk" are you referring to?

Hello, This is babyruth's brother.

Here is some more information.

According to the recovery disk the operating system is:

Windows 7 Home premium service pack 1 64 bit version

For Distribution Only With a New Samsung PC

The computer is a Samsung rv515 year 2012

I apologize for the double post, but I don't seem to be able to edit posts.

Thanks for the info, don't worry about the double post :).

I'm not understanding the original post, in light of what was stated.

I have a Samsung laptop, with recovery disk.  Using that disk will delete everything on the system and reinstall Windows exactly as it was when I first used it.  All drivers needed for component function...should be installed as part of the recovery process.

What is this "Samsung REC" that you state was deleted...and is viewed by you as a problem?  Everything on the system...should have been deleted when you elected to use the recovery disk, IMO.

I went to Samsung.com and they said that I'll need to re-image my computer, and it will cost me $39 plus shipping. Is there anyway I can do this without having to pay that much? I mean I don't mind paying $20 plus shipping, but I can't afford $39 plus shipping.

Have you checked to see if drivers are installed for LAN and wireless?

To check, go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Device Manager.

What is listed under Network Adapters? Do you see any yellow symbols next to the entries?

Are you trying to connect via Ethernet or wireless?

Googling Samsung REC got me info that leads me to believe OP deleted the icon and/or program that would have called up Samsung Recovery.  i had a similar icon/program on my laptops.  Past tense, I "reFinished" both laptop HDs with Windows 7 Pro.

That is a possibility, Roland.

Another question for babyruth to answer:
Are you referring to an icon or the program used by Samsung to bring up System Recovery?
Is the system recovery partition still on your computer, if there was one on your computer?

Are you wanting to connect wirelessly?

If so, you need to install the driver for your wireless adapter.

You can get the driver from Samsung. Since you have to use another computer to get on the internet, you can download the driver on the other computer, then copy or move the download to a flash drive, external drive or cd.

After you do that, use the media on your computer to install the driver.

Start here http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads

Choose the appropriate category. Enter the information asked for. You will need your EXACT model number.

Click Get Downloads.

Manuals and Downloads will open. On the right side of the page click the + next to See More.

Ok, I have internet now and I'm chatting with you from my own computer thanks to Queen-Evie's help =). The system recovery fixed all my previous problems, and the accident I had :oopsign:  during system recovery caused some other. Other like some of the partition files that I think I need for my computer were deleted and I've just about been driven to do the unthinkable :smash: .

Oh I almost forgot to metion that now I'm having trouble with my internet, it's running ok, but when I go from one page to another it flashes and when I read a comic sometimes it says that internet explorer has stopped working and must restart the internet most of the time it's only annoying because all I have to do is click close program then close and then I wait for the page to reload, but it keeps happening over and over and becomes more and more frequent.
