I have win7 64 Bit and Ran   chkdsk   from ADMIN command Prompt.

The system does it then restsarts and I go into Manager then Applacations.

Then win Logs.

I can not find the Log called     winninit    file.

I see the Logs for that Day but not the Log that gives the scan report.

Can you help?

first thing: backup/copy off to a different medium data you want to keep.

Your last post doesn't make any sense to me.  Post a pic of the event viewer log so we can review.

This is what I ment.

After the system restarts I go into Event Viewer I do go into Windows Logs and under Applications.

Now on the Right hand side of the screen I see all the Logs for the Date I did the Scan.

But I am looking for the Log Called    winnint     this will be the scan Log with all the info. for the scan it did.

But when I look under the Source Title I do not see any    winnint.

Look for the "source" to be Chkdsk not wininit. When Chkdsk is run within Windows it's logged under chkdsk when it runs at startup it's logged under wininit.
