The past 2 weeks I have had a recurring issue where my mouse or other USB related devices have ceased functioning. Sometimes they will correct themselves, sometimes they wont. On occasion my computer will even crash giving me the Error Code BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER. I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

My computer is a home-brew this is the parts list:

Lite On 12X Blu Ray Burner w/ 3D Features OEM
AOC 22in 1920x1080 5ms DVI LED Monitor
ATX Mid-size Tower
Crosair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 2133MHz CL11 2x4GB
Thermaltake TR2 700W Power Supply
AMD FX-8350 Eight Core 4GHZ 16MB CPU
XFX Radeon HD 7850 860 MHz 2GB Graphics Card
WD Green 2TB Sata 3.5" Internal Drive
SABRENT 802.11N Wireless PCI Controller Card
Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit OS
ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 Socket AM3+ Motherboard - ATX, Socket AM3+
AMD 990FX/SB950 Chipset, 2133MHz DDR3 (O.C.), 8-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, USB 3.0

Edit: I have the bad feeling it's an issue with my Motherboard and it's USB ports are malfunctioning. It could also be a Software problem which, If fixable, would be the best scenario. The main reason I think it's a hardware issue and not Software is because I just installed Windows 10 on my system and in the process of doing so, I wiped the Hard Drive and started from scratch.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 1503) dates from 2013.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

Only 5 updates installed, most W10 systems have 12.  Check to see if there are any more updates available (and if so, install them).
Don't worry about the exact number, it's just important that you've checked.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center.  This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

NOTE:  these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive.  The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.

Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from http://www.amd.com (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLYhttp://www.sysnative.com/forums/showthread.php/668-ATI-video-cards-DRIVER-ONLY-installation-procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install".  Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's.  If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Please visit the motherboard's website and update the SATA driver listed for the W10 drivers.

Also, update the C-Media USB Audio drivers for your system to the latest, W10 compatible version.  FWIW - the USB audio may be related to one of your USB devices, so you'll have to update that also.

I followed everything you recommended other than Updating C-Media Drivers. There were so many different downloads making it very confusing as to which one I should download; there was also no versions that explicitly stated they were for Windows 10. Overall the result seems to be good as I have had no issues after my computer has run for 5 hours, but not guaranteed. I won't feel safe until at least a week passes without any other incidents. If you would like me to post another analysis for you to examine just let me know, and I thank you for all the help you have provided. You have quite likely saved me a weeks' worth of headache and needing to resort to various Customer Service providers.

Should the BSOD's return, try uninstalling the C-Media software and physically removing the USB device from your system.

Good luck!

I haven't seen a Razer driver BSOD in a long time.  I'd thought that they'd fixed them since the debacle a few years back.

Maybe this is just a one-off corruption.

Please uninstall the Razer software from your system and see if the BSOD's continue

If they do, then please remove the Razer device from your system and use another device for testing.

The last 5 memory dumps blame USB and the Razer drivers - a pretty good indicator that the Razer drivers are to blame.

The latest memory dump is Driver Verifier enabled and it also blames the Razer drivers.

Please don't forget to turn Verifier off.

To do this, run verifier.exe and select "Delete existing settings", then click on the "Finish" button and reboot for the changes to take effect.

It's not unusual for it to take several pages of posts in order to fix this.

It appears that Driver Verifier is not turned off.  As such you can expect the system to continue to BSOD (as that's what Driver Verifier does - it causes BSOD's).

But, there were 3 memory dumps.  2 still had the Razer drivers, and this last one has a Logitech driver.

This might have been a problem that influenced the Razer driver problem, it may be a separate problem with the Logitech drivers, or it may be an error that wouldn't appear if Driver Verifier wasn't running.

Regardless, let's attempt to fix it - and turn Driver Verifier off.

To fix it please:

- download the latest, W10 compatible drivers for your Logitech device(s)

- uninstall ALL of the Logitech software

- install the freshly downloaded Logitech software

- monitor for further BSOD's (being sure to turn Driver Verifier off).

FYI - the Logitech drivers date from 2008 - well before W10 was a glimmer in Bill Gates' eye!

I have seen one or two BSOD's due to the wireless XBox controller driver that you are using (xusb22.sys).

This isn't enough to blame it as a common cause of BSOD's, but it is something to keep an eye on.

If in doubt, uninstall it's software and physically remove the device from the system in order to test it.

So, Nothing significant has happened since disabling Driver Verifier, I still get issues with my mouse control freezing randomly (in some cases the mouse itself just stops responding and I am forced to 'reset' it by removing and inserting it.) After searching I found that there are no windows 10 drivers for my Logitech camera (the latest was windows vista so I'm just removing it) I also searched for any windows 10 drivers for my Razer devices, but Razer is heavily insistent on downloading Razer Synapse 2.0. There are no standalone drivers up for download so I will have to comply with their Synapse Program if I am to download anything. Considering the Origin of the BSOD incidents began roughly around the time my mouse was messing up like it is now I feel as if I'm not through with this yet.

Logitech drivers are historically more stable than Razer drivers.  That being said, there haven't been a lot of problems with either within the last year to two.

I'd suggest removing the Razer devices and using regular devices temporarily (also remove the Razer software and drivers).

That way you can get a feel about the Razer stuff during it's absence (see if this affects the mouse freezing).

It could be a hardware problem with the Razer mouse - or it could be the Razer drivers.
