I am working on a computer for a family friend. Windows was in pretty bad shape when it was given to me and the best action plan was to wipe clean and reinstall.

After the reinstall the computer was still exhibiting the exact same symptoms. Explorer crashing over and over all by itself, BSOD for page file not in paging area, etc. Thats when I knew it was hardware related. After running Memtest from Hirens Boot CD I quickly found the source of the problem.

I have replaced the bad RAM and the computer is stable now but I am unable to install several windows updates. All the errors take me to the System Update Readiness Tool but that didn't help.

The next step was to run sfc /scannow. I have done that both in regular OS mode and safe mode. I have converted the log file to a text file but I'm not sure what to do from here. There are several corrupt files that SFC was unable to repair.

I need some help getting this thing back on its feet.

Thanks!!
