I have a Windows 7 HP Pavilion g6 Notebook

Intel core I3-2350M

64 bit

6 GB of ram

I have cleaned the computer of adware and all unwanted programs with Adware cleaner, Rouge Killer, Malwarebytes Antimalware, and SuperAnti Spyware. Now i have cleaned out pretty much everything.

When I start IE i get http://--c=5008/... I can not get rid of it. i have reset IE i have even went back to IE 10. Even when i run the programs again they catch nothing. Any help would be great. Im usually pretty good at this but this one has me stumped.

Thanks in advance

The page you linked to goes to a portion of Bleeping Computer which has been redesigned. One of those pages is the Bleeping Computer main page.

Do you normally use that as your home page?

If so, Grinler announced the redesign yesterday

Try resetting you Home page.

Open Internet Explorer.

Click the Tools button , and then click Internet options.

On the General tab, under Home page, enter the URL of the site you want to set as a home page.

Click Apply, and then tap or click OK.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

When I clicked the link in your post it took me to the Bleeping Computer main page.

I decided to try something else. The link is this
http://--c=5008/

I copied that, pasted it in my browser address bar and got Page cannot be displayed.

Since I have the ability to edit posts I clicked edit in your first post and there is no mention of Bleeping Computer in the URL.
I have no clue why it opens to the BC page when clicking the link in your post.

This is what I see when I looked at it through edit
 [url=/]http://--c=5008/[/url]
A normal URL would look like this
[url=http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/]http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/[/url]
There is nothing in the link to indicate a specific page.

What happens if you open the browser, get the page not displayed and then go to a different site?

@ Queen-Evie,

FWIW  when I copy and paste I end up here

http://--c%3D5008/

But if I hover over the link in #1 I get "external link" window revealed/pop up

and in the bottom of my browser(vivaldi) the link address does indeed show http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/

don't know if that helps you any, it certainly does't help the OP

Hedge

PS interesting new look

PPS The above link was page not displayed, now if you click on it guess what?(google my link No1 is interesting(sorry going off topic)

Queen-Evie, it opens bleeping computer because it is just going to the root of the local site, as in url=/  and it doesn't care about the rest. Something like this  , nothing to do with the OP's issue but just a side effect of how the forum software here parses (bad) url's (or if the OP manually wrote the bb code wrong but i doubt that)
