Invalid File Menu

When downloading a .pdf file on the internet 9Click on a .pdf file) after the download completes, I get the following error message 'Invalid file menu" I am unable to open the .pdf. Any ideas?

I assume that you have Adobe Reader installed - but you may not have one new enough for the file you downloaded. I've got 7.0. Sometimes, it's recommended that you use an older one if you have a system that can't handle the bloated newer edition, but it's good to have the newest if your system can handle it.
