I know the Northbridge conects the CPU and Main Memory and AGP.
And the Northbridge was conected to the Southbridge.
And the Southbridge had the IDE the PCI and the Floppy Drive.
I get all of this.
But then the CPUs had the Northbridge stuff Built right into it.
So things like PCI Express and Main Memory can now just talk to the CPU and not go through the Northbridge.
Then why do they call the Northbridge the Memory Contralor HUB?
If the got rid of the Northbridge and the new CPUs can do the job of the Northbridge what is the Memory Contralor HUB for?
