Using Safari 5.1.1 on an iMac running 10.6.8, I want to send an email using Yahoo. I can't figure out how to underline part of a name in an email address. For example, PRFoster, underlining Foster. Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks, Joe.

Select the text you want to underline, and press CommandU to underline it

Now, looking at your version of Mac OS X, it is wise to upgrade to El Capitan, as it is not plagued with bugs like it did in Yosemite, (especially the WiFi issues) and there were multiple vulnerabilities patched, and some of them do affect Snow Leopard

Here are the instructions to upgrade to El Capitan

Thanks CK. I haven't read much about El Capitan but I'll look into it.

The command U trick does work using a Mac, Yahoo mail does not have much built-in formatting on its own.  You'd have to use text color (the solid colored "A" at the bottom of the screen) or something else if you wanted to do this in a cross-platform way.
