I'm getting 2 seconds of on time on this computer then it shuts off, if i bump the case it turns back on.

Seems to me like a bad ground or power problem.

I still cant for the life of me figure this out.

I get no beep codes on boot, it just shuts down.

after letting it sit for a while i got into windows but it shut down immediately after full boot.

I was wondering if anyone knows of this problem or if this is isolated.

The operating system is XP home, but i doubt that matters.

The power supply has been replaced with a known good and i still have this problem, i had also spliced the wires before the
on/off switch to eliminate a bad switch.

Sounds like a short/loose connection somewhere.
I'd open the case and go over all the connections with a fine tooth comb.
Disconnect them, make sure they're clean, then securely reconnect them.
