i'm using grapher 7 with office 2007, and so my excel files are usually in xlsx or xml format. it seems grapher 7 does not like this. i suppose i can save the excel files in the old xls format, but this can be a pain. is there another easier fix for this?

Not familiar with 'Grapher 7,' but FYI you can change your default save format from File > Options > Save.
