my computer does not take any email addresses for any web site.   I do not have any email address that I can use.

What can I do?   This is for my friend's computer.

Websites have website addresses, not e-mail addresses.

Ex.:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/591747/why-doesnt-my-computer-take-any-email-addresses/

This is the website address for your topic.

You can save the website address by bookmarking it.  Then you can copy and paste that to use it, or you can just click on the address and it will open the website the address pertains to.

What browser are you using?

I mean that I cannot get any email address to work to get into the websites to register.   I am not able to get an email address for myself to work at all.

Would an email application program work?

A website is one thing...an email address for a website is another.

It's unclear what you are trying to do...or why.

What happens if you send a e-mail to yourself?

What happens when you try to use your e-mail address to join a website?

Louis, dc3, this is a longshot...if OP is trying to use his email address as an account name for numerous web sites, could the failure be in one or more following areas:  privacy software set too high [?blocking the input?], web sites not accepting what is being typed in [especially if Captcha is too tough], the verification process is breaking down [verify email address email is not coming thru into OP's inbox].

@RolandJS

Without the OP answering our questions we are only guessing if we make suggestions at this point.

Would an email application program work?

No, if by email application you mean an email client such as Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, Outlook, etc.

Those are simply 3rd party email handlers, which you configure to work for whatever email address(es) you use.

Since you will be using the same email address as you with webmail, it still won't work when you try to register at websites.

When entering the email address to register are there any error messages? If so, what exactly does it say?

I have run into some sites which will not accept a Gmail or Yahoo addy for registration purposes. They are considered disposable. Had to use my ISP's addy, several times.
