It’s not unusual for people to pay others to wait the long hours, even days, in line for them, but one woman in Australia decided to give the task to her trusty robot ‘Lucy.’

Instead of braving the cold Sydney weather, ingenious Apple fan Lucy Kelly sent a droid, also named 'Lucy', to take her place in the queue.

Ms Kelly works with the media agency Atomic 212, which organised the publicity stunt, is believed to be the first person to use a robot to buy an iPhone.

The machines are slowly taking over.

That's funny! I wonder if said <Lucy> is equipped to respond to que jumpers, techie talk. and the the mirage of questions from the
Apple_Pert!

In theory one could stay warm, with an alarm fitted to <Lucy> then as a human replace the droid just in time to collect the phone in person? I can just see reports about line thugs beating up Ms. Kelly as she replaces her robot!!
