Hello.

I'm having a software issue so problematic that I've joined my first help forum to explain my predicament.

Everytime I try to open Sony Vegas Pro 13 the following Problem Report appears:

Vegas Pro has stopped working

 Problem Description
   Application Name:    Vegas Pro
   Application Version: Version 13.0 (Build 453) 64-bit
   Problem:             Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
   Fault Module:        C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 13.0\vegas130.exe
   Fault Address:       0x00007FF7CFF7A710
   Fault Offset:        0x000000000081A710

 Fault Process Details
   Process Path:        C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 13.0\vegas130.exe
   Process Version:     Version 13.0 (Build 453) 64-bit
   Process Description: Vegas Pro
Process Image Date:  2015-06-05 (Fri Jun 05) 15:53:04

This occurs even before the splash screen appears.  So far these are the measures that have failed:

  • Reinstall Sony Vegas Pro 12 & 13
  • Uninstall Quicktime
  • Uninstall iTunes
  • Remove Error Report Client (doing this prevents anything at all happening when opening the programme)
  • Remove PRSConfig
  • Update Nvidia graphics drivers
  • Rename FileIO Plug-Ins
  • Uninstall new plugins
  • Install C++2008 and 2012.
  • Throwing miscellaneous items at the wall

I think that's it

Now, both Sony Vegas Pro 12 and Sony Vegas Pro 13 used to work fine when I had Windows 7, but now don't work having installed Windows 10.

Can anyone out there help?

Thanks in advance.

I've been having the exact same problem ever since I upgraded to Windows 10. Both Vegas Pro 10 and 13 don't work at all. It gives me pretty much the same error. Any luck yet?

Hi Jops_UK,

Welcome to Bleeping Computer Forums.

it could be compatibility issue.

Try download & install the latest Graphic driver.

Zalo, Tenis :hello:

I sent my problem to an IT guy (who made the national news for hacking into an American organisation that then wanted him extradited) and he said it was 'probably' a Windows 10 compatability issue. I've updated my Nvidia graphics drivers and still no dice.

The only thing that I couldn't successfully attempt Zalo (which you might have more success with) was following the steps from the link below. My drivers didn't have the options that it outlined. (Nvidia GTS450)

Can you tell me the version of your graphic driver by going  to Nvidia Control Panel?

Jops_UK,

I can't follow the instructions shown on that website properly, the only options that I get when I pick my GPU for Vegas and for the global settings is my GTX 970 and that's about it, so I don't see why the problem would lie there.

Hello Zalo420

As i said before it could be compatibility issue.

Your GPU driver may not working properly.

If software use GPU and drivers not working properly it can cause software crashes.

Can you tell me your driver version also by going at Nvidia Control Panel?

Nope, I'm afraid it still doesn't work even after performing the clean installation.

Finally managed to fix it! I did what the OP stated in this post, https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/993191

which was disabling every single Ethernet device that is labelled as "TAP-Win32 Adapter OAS", after doing that Vegas Pro 13 started up normally.

Thanks for the help Tenis, much appreciated.

YES!!!!!!!!!!

After a week of turning cantankerous, disabling all 16 TAP-Win32 Adapter OAS's in my Device Manager's Network Adapters worked!

No Idea why ( I tried the clean install too to no avail) but hey - :guitar:

Zalo420, Tenis - thank you so much! :thumbup2:
