start button not working windows 10

i did the upgrade then i defraged my hd know my start button does nothing when i click on it.

I am assuming you mean that you just upgraded to Windows 10 ?

 

Have you rebooted ?

reboot again.....While on the Sign-in screen, click/tap on the Power button, press and hold the Shift key, and click/tap on Restart.
