wi-fi direct on smart tv

My new samsung smart tv has wi-fi direct. What security issues if any are there with this? Does it broadcast ssid like an AP? I don't get it...  Can devices connect to my tv?

What I meant was more along the lines of "Can unwanted devices connect"

Wifi Direct supports WPS configuration methods (PIN or PushButton). You should check if it is available on your TV and how it is configured.
