I have spent many hours trying to get Cortana and my keyboard to work together correctly in the UK.  If I activate Cortana successfully my keyboard does not work as it should, several keys (such as @) are wrong. If I get the keyboard working correctly Cortana does not activate and I am told she is not available in the region set.

"To use Cortana, all these settings must be set to the same language:

  • Languages (this is your device language)
  • Speech language
  • Country or region"

I have done that many times. I have gone backwards and forwards between setting everything to UK English and to US English, and tried to set everything to UK apart from the keyboard which I set to US. After each new setup I close down and restart, as I have been advised to do. Of course, if I set the region to US I get news, prices and much else which is not what I want in the UK.

I have also tried what some others have had success with: setting everything to US, closing, relaunching and setting everything to UK.  So far this has not worked for me because the keyboard is wrong again.

There must surely be a combination of settings compatible for both Cortana and the keyboard.

Watch this video : How To enable Cortana in Any Country

Follow the settings I advise in the video and around 3:35 the date, time and keyboard settings and format are explained.

It works for me with English (US) and a Belgian (point) keyboard... it should work with English (UK) and your prefered keyboard.

Thanks, I will view the video out of interest/ for future reference but I have got Cortana enabled now, giving me UK News, reminders, etc. Now I have another problem, which is that any searches from Cortana and a great many links generate the 'class not registered' error.I have just failed to install Belarc because of this.
