Lets see if I can explain this correct.

 Dell Inspiron 17 R running Win 8.1

Flash Drive Kingston DTI/ 2GB ( aver 6yrs old) no issues

Bit Locker Encrypted

Previous Issue: Housing was torn off a year ago by a fan in its close proximity - Housing replaced with no issues what so ever. Drive used to date every day.

Drive is not ejected physically due to its mishap. Did not want to cause any further damage

Problem: Today when I went to use flash it did not show in my computer. I ejected it several times and reinstalled it but no avail.

When it is plugged in it does "ding" and when it is removed.

In disk management it shows as  a drive ( Disk 3  Removable G: No Media)

It also gets hot whilst its in. Not too hot but warm which it never did before

When installed it flashes several times and stops

Have many files  I would like to get access to
