Does anyone know if its possible to change the colour of the Start bar in XP. Im not looking for a new THEME, messing there can cause more problems than its worth.

All i want to do is change the colour appearance from the usual 3 of Blue, Olive Green, and Silver to somthing a little different. I dont want anything thats going to completely alter the OS like a theme would, just an option for another color!

Any ideas or know programmes anyone would be great!

Thank you kindly peeps!

As far sas I know any color changes Windows XP can accomplish are accessed through the display section of your control panel.

control panel/display/appearance tab/advanced

Thanks for the reply Enthusiast, but its the actual Start bar that i want to change the colour of. It gives the choice of 3 colors, but im wondering if its possible to change it to another colour,eg Black or Red. A little bored of the usual 3 colors, a change would be nice

Thanks again!

Read the following page - the whole page:
http://sarahlane.typepad.com/sarahword/200...xps_start_.html

Unless you are an EXPERT at Windows, I would suggest you not do it.
In any case, if you must, create a Windows System Restore point BEFORE you make any changes.

I cannot vouch for the aps needed or the efficacy of the instructions - if you do it, do it at your own risk.

Hi GraveAngel

I use a small app called TClock Lite which expands the clock to give you the day and date and as an extra allows you to play with the start button.

I didn't get mine off this site, but it does have v1.3 and other interesting looking things I must go back to

Cheers
