I have just installed Windows 8.1 but never having never used it before I find I am struggling with a few problems. The main one at the moment is the ability to see what I am doing and to be able to read the small text.

The icons and text the desktop are much too small for me to see properly.

Changing the screen resolution solved the problem for me but then I cannot use any of the apps because it says the screen resolution is too low.

Possibly involving the same problem, whenever I open a folder, to be able to see what I am doing, I have to click view and change to large icons. What I would like to know is if there is any way of setting it up so that all folders open with large icons instead of having to keep repeating this procedure for every folder.

Well its strange why this is happening.

In windows you can simply right click in blank area & click view-> medium/large icons. There should be no need to change the screen resolution.
